Delhi, 1 April 2024: Master of Arts in Public Policy and International Relations is a novel dual degree programme launched by Macquarie University, one of Australia’s top 10 universities, in association with The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Hyderabad.
Aspiring legislators will receive the multidisciplinary knowledge and abilities necessary to negotiate the complexity of the modern global environment thanks to this ground-breaking project.
A unique two-year program, the MA in Public Policy and International Relations allows students to get two esteemed postgraduate degrees from two distinguished universities. Carefully developed by professionals from TISS Hyderabad and Macquarie University, the program offers a thorough grasp of institutional dynamics, international geopolitics, and policy frameworks.
“We have started a strategic path to empower Indian students with unmatched educational journeys in partnership with TISS Hyderabad,” stated Prof. Chris Dixon, Executive Dean, Faculty of Arts, Macquarie University. With the knowledge and global perspective required to address global issues, this new programme will catapult students to the forefront of public policy and international relations.
The program would not only strengthen Indo-Australian cooperation but also provide a new architecture for public policy education linking the local-national with regional and global, according to Prof. Madhushree Sekher, Dean, Office of International Relations at TISS.
“Public policy in India as a discipline, acquires additional depth by bringing together two converging disciplines Public Policy and International Relations to prepare thought leaders of the future,” says Prof. Aseem Prakash, one of the course’s main architects.
Over the first year of the programme, students at TISS Hyderabad will explore the complexities of public policy and governance. By use of a combination of academic knowledge and real-world applications, they will acquire the necessary skills to evaluate policy frameworks, evaluate their effects, and come up with creative answers to urgent social issues.
The second year, which will be held at Sydney’s Macquarie University, will concentrate on the intricacies of international relations in the quickly changing global environment. By gaining priceless understanding of global processes, regional dynamics, and the function of international organizations, students will be better equipped to participate actively in global affairs.
